Each year the Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary provides three scholarships to local high school students who have overcome difficult odds to graduate. The scholarship is designed to help them take the next step in their educational journey. In the past, some of our recipients have been homeless during their high school years, endured natural and man-made tragedies and overcome incredibly difficult medical conditions to reach the finish line. Our goal is to expand this program to provide bigger scholarships and a second year award to support our initial awardees.

On October 4, 2025, club member David Dosier will attempt to run 100 miles in the Hennepin Hundred footrace in an effort to raise money for the scholarship program. People can make either a one-time donation or make a pledge of a certain amount per mile. Even if he doesn't make it the entire 100 miles, every mile he covers will help us meet our goal, IF YOU MAKE A PLEDGE! Will you help us out and make a difference in some young peoples' lives in DeKalb County? To make a donation or a pledge, go to: https://go.eventgroovefundraising.com/run4rotary or text  'run100' to (406) 302-5086 to get this link.
