The Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary Club continued its Christmas tradition of hosting a party for the benefit of the local Salvation Army chapter. 2017 was a good year - the club donated over $500 in unwrapped toys and $1,760 in donations to the Salvation Army. The goal was to help the Salvation Army make the holidays a special time for those in need....SUCCESS!

The Belvidere Rotary Club pitches in at the Boone County Fair each year by manning the booths that sell ride tickets. It raises some money to support club activities and community service projects AND is a way to contribute to an annual community-wide event each year. This year two of our members, Jim MacMurdo and David Dosier, went up to Belvidere to help out - a great example of some club collaboration! Rotary clubs can be found in most communities or at least nearby - together they can leverage manpower and resources to make an even bigger impact.
Mark you calendars! The Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting "Trucktoberfest" on September 24 from 12-4 in the parking lot at Faranda's in DeKalb. Proceeds will support the club's annual community grant to benefit children, youth and families in DeKalb County. This year's recipient of the grant is DeKalb County Community Gardens. Bring the family out for some good eats and good fun. This is a great opportunity to support your community and make a difference....and have fun doing it!
